Willie Mandeville is an American lutenist, guitarist, and composer currently living and working in Trondheim, Norway.  He grew up surrounded by acoustic music and earned his bachelor’s degree in classical composition at the Boston Conservatory in 2012.  After an aborted foray into doctoral studies, Willie fled to the wilds of Wyoming to develop his musical voice outside the strictures of an academic environment.  While continuing to compose contemporary classical music, he accidentally rediscovered his bluegrass, jazz, and folk roots in Laramie, WY and began exploring the common threads between his regimented classical training and the acoustic music scene.

Today, Willie moves between the lute and guitar as necessary, presenting the music of the present and the music of the past on equal footing.
