Hello, I am Saumey Jain.

I like to regard myself as a global nomad who has been out of his home in Delhi, India since the last five years, and is exploring different cultures and meeting different people in India and abroad. Music is the language understood by everyone no matter how diverse the culture is. It gives me the flexibility to learn, relax and perform at my own speed and find solace whenever I might need it.

I have always been fascinated with the application of biology with different fields of science and technology. This propelled me to pursue biological engineering as my major during my undergraduate studies at Vellore Institute of Technology, India. A major discovery for me was how the cells reacted to musical cues! They seem to be growing better and surely happier with music. I want to highlight how music plays a very important role even for the most microscopic elements in our body.

Currently pursuing my master’s in nanotechnology at KTH, I am looking forward to bridge biology with other branches of science and technology to work in the field of medicine and healthcare.

Interestingly, you might not know that the motto of KTH goes as follows: “Vetenskap och Konst” which translates to “Science and art”. I believe that science and art go hand in hand, like the rhythmic beating of the human heart circulating blood all over the body. So here I am, looking forward to participating in MusicTech Fest to learn, explore and pursue the holy trinity of music, science and life.

See you at MTF Stockholm 2018!
