Music Tech Fest founder Michela Magas represented us at the opening keynote at the inaugural Slush Music event in Helsinki last week. Slush is the biggest startup, investor and entrepreneur event in Europe, and the new Slush Music strand opened the music tech sector up to 17,000 conference delegates across the two days.
Michela’s keynote explodes a common perception that music is not a good investment in the current technology environment. Music drives revenues for the most powerful technology companies on earth - and music has always been technological. In fact, the returns on innovation in music are spread right across all industry sectors - and music technology is at the vanguard of new developments.
“With all these skills we are really well placed to test all the new interaction in the area of the physical internet. We tend to bring it into our sphere and focus on performance.”
In other news: MIT Media Lab have produced a documentary film about #MTFLab: Body - Music Tech Fest’s interactive performance lab that brought a range of brilliant artists and technologists together at #MTFBerlin for a groundbreaking collaboration with bionic artist Viktoria Modesta.
Watch out for the release of that film very soon…
