Sound for Urban Environments
The week-long experimentation track is a call to action to jointly implement JUST Data practice across domains. The unifying challenge focuses on the technological and cultural aspects of Sound for Urban Environments: it asks how to signal and interact in the era of AI, automation and IoT devices; how this affects personal space and culture; and how to ensure that technologies are implemented for social good.

We aim to build AI models that are based on
judicious, unbiased, safe and transparent data practice.
JOINING DATA ACROSS DOMAINS
Building on the success of our recent JUST Health Data Labs in Gothenburg, where we collaborated with the health sector to set the standard for Judicious, Unbiased, Safe, and Transparent (JUST) data annotation, we continue our mission to ensure ethical and transparent data practices. In Linköping we will further develop these standards and principles, promoting trust and integrity in industrial AI and data technologies by focusing on the human aspects and responsibilities of data collection, data management, and data ownership.
Cross-domain experiments will be conducted using data from the Swedish Health Data Innovation Platform, the Swedish Space Data Lab 3.0 and the AI Factory/RAILWAY – The Evolution, as well as data and technologies from the innovative companies at Linköping Science Park.

Global Brainstorming
On the second day we open the discussion to participants beyond Sweden and Europe, with a series of provocations and a series of global brainstorming sessions connecting to satellites of knowledge around the world. Provocateurs will inject the discussion with unique insights about JUST Data practice, Data Ethics, the application of sound in urban environments, industrial AI applications, health data and space data applications. Both in person and online.

Field Trip: Data Collection
Lab participants start their hands-on engagement with the Linköping environment. A field trip focusing on recording and data collection in the city will lead to the start of prototyping of several experiments using data and industrial technologies. An afternoon workshop led by Diana Popa from TU Delft will focus on AI literacy (in person and online). Sound sessions will run in parallel to ensure that experiments are injected with highly creative input throughout the week. Experiments and prototyping will continue through to Saturday when solutions will be presented in an exclusive showcase to the public.

Synthetic and Health Data
While experiments continue, the day introduces new contributions from synthetic data and health sector experts. The day will feature a Synthetic Data Workshop with Ericka Johnson from Linköping University, and presentations of a series of new projects that unite data across the Health sector including the Swedish Health Data Platform, Astra Zeneca, KTH, Karolinska and Linköping health ecosystems.

In conjunction with digiNEB – the Digital Ecosystem for the New European Bauhaus – the day will include reflections on JUST Data practice as a key component of the hands-on, collaborative methods that allow for prototyping and experimentation across the built environment, primary industry, transportation, healthcare, and earth observation. The day will culminate with the launch of the Susan Lesley Bland Prize for Social Good, by Robert Cailliau, formerly of CERN, the European Laboratory for Particle Physics, and First WWW Pioneer.
